About the Society

The Society was formed in 1956. The objectives of the Society are:

  1. The advancement of the science of nematology;
  2. To foster collaboration between nematologists particularly through the Society newsletter and through Symposia and other meetings;
  3. To represent the views of nematologists to other bodies, organisations and governments.

These aims are advanced through organisation of biennial meetings and through distribution of the newsletter of the ESN – Nematology News – to members.

Members can access Nematology News and the ESN membership directory via the Members area of this site. To access the members area use the "login" button at the top of the screen. Once you have logged in a link to the members area will be visible.

Details of how to join ESN can be found here

New Internal rules of ESN

As of October 9th, the ESN has obtained legal status in the Netherlands. As a part of this process the old ESN constitution, along with some changes that the governing board is proposing, has been incorporated into a set of "Internal Rules" that define how the ESN will operate. Members voted to approve these changes at the recent meeting in Brisbane. A copy of the internal rules document can be found here.The Articles of Association for the ESN can be found here.

The full agenda for the meeting that took place in Brisbane can be found here.

New Membership Fees

Following the General Meeting in Brisbane all ESN members were contacted by email and offered the chance to vote on the proposed increase in membership fees. The results of the vote were overwhelmingly in favour of the proposed new fees and consequently these fees - 20 Euro per annum - will take effect from January 1st 2009.

Members of the ESN are now entitled to subscribe tothe journal Nematology at a special individual member subscription rate of just €99 to receive the e-only version of the journal.
